Position Overview:
The Operations Supervisor – Parts Distribution is responsible for the effective supervision and execution of day-to-day warehouse and distribution activities with a strong focus on inventory management and performance reporting. This role ensures operational efficiency, team productivity, and inventory accuracy by leveraging the AMOS (Advanced Management Operating System) platform and related reporting tools. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by providing actionable data and analysis to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily distribution functions including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping of parts.
- Monitor and coordinate workload distribution among warehouse staff, adjusting labor as needed based on operational demand.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment in compliance with customer expectations and service level agreements.
Inventory and Reporting:

Utilize AMOS to generate and maintain operational and inventory performance reports including:
- Inventory accuracy and variances.
- Cycle count metrics.
- Order accuracy and fill rate.
- Warehouse productivity and throughput.
- Analyze trends and discrepancies in AMOS data to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain dashboards and documentation for operational KPIs and report out performance to management.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel in accordance with company policies and performance standards.
- Conduct regular shift briefings, communicate objectives, and ensure staff alignment with daily and weekly goals.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in warehouse processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Support internal audits, compliance initiatives, and inventory accuracy programs.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of SOPs related to distribution and reporting functions.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of AMOS or equivalent warehouse operations reporting systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with WMS and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a parts distribution environment (automotive, heavy equipment, electronics, etc.).
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and cycle count programs.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with routine exposure to material handling equipment and variable temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- May require flexibility in working hours, including weekends or overtime during peak periods.
