Position Overview: We are currently seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to join our team as On-Call/Supply Educators at our daycare facility in Ontario. As an On-Call/Supply Educator, you will have the opportunity to provide support and care to children in our daycare center on an as-needed basis. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and the chance to work in a dynamic and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare Assistance: Provide support and assistance to the permanent educators in delivering quality care and educational activities to children in the daycare center.
Program Implementation: Assist with the implementation of age-appropriate programs, curriculum, and daily routines, following the guidelines and policies established by the daycare.
Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, maintaining constant vigilance during indoor and outdoor activities.
Engagement and Interaction: Foster positive relationships with children, engaging in play, conversation, and educational activities that promote their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Classroom Management: Help maintain a structured and organized environment by assisting with transitions, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, and managing behavior in accordance with daycare policies and procedures.
Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with other staff members, including permanent educators and administration, to ensure consistency in care and program delivery.
Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to all provincial regulations and licensing requirements, including completing necessary documentation, incident reports, and attendance records as needed.
Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and punctuality in all aspects of the role, adhering to the daycare's code of conduct and policies.
Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to work in different classrooms or with different age groups based on the needs of the daycare.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with current early childhood education practices and attend training sessions or professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in early childhood education or a related field is an asset.
Experience: Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or elementary school setting is preferred.
First Aid Certification: Hold a valid First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain one prior to the start of employment).
Knowledge and Skills:Familiarity with the principles of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected situations with patience and flexibility.
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with permanent educators and staff members.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
Availability: Be available for on-call shifts, often with short notice, to cover absences, vacations, or additional staffing needs. Flexibility to work various hours, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings, is required.
Background Check: Must provide a satisfactory criminal background check, including a vulnerable sector screening, as per provincial regulations.
