We are seeking a reliable, responsible, and experienced Childcare Provider to join our team on a casual on-call basis. As a Childcare Provider, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care for children ranging from infants to school-aged children in the absence of their parents or guardians at different locations. Your duties will include ensuring their safety, engaging them in age-appropriate activites, preparing snacks and meals, and following any specific instructions.
Please note that this position is designed as a supplemental income opportunity, ideal for those seeking a secondary source of earnings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the absence of their parents or guardians
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, such as games, crafts, and educational activities
- Prepare snacks and meals for children as needed
- Follow any specific instructions provided by parents or guardians, routines, dietary restrictions, and medication administration
- Monitor children's behavior and intervene when necessary to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Clean up after children's activities and ensure location is left tidy
- Communicate with parents or guardians about any issues or concerns that arise during your care
Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Minimum of 2-years experience working with children in a professional or personal setting
- Relevant post secondary eduation (i.e. Child and Youth Workers, PSW, ECE, and ECA)
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with children in a positive and nurturing manner
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Reliable transportation to and from the job location
