Job Summary: The goal is to support families by collaborating with our community Elders, to assist our children, youth, parents, and families to thrive in a nurturing and safe environment, and to ensure positive outcomes for the community of Onion Lake Cree Nation.

The Manager of OLCN Prevention Services is responsible for supervising and mentoring department staff with prevention services, staff with the Women and Youth Empowerment programs/activities, and staff coordinating the First Nations Representative Services. Reports to OLCN Executive Directors, and is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations, related budgets, work plans, and reports for each program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Ensure services are delivered with excellence and conform to Onion Lake Cree Nation’s policies.

· Assists in ensuring the highest quality of prevention services through decision-making that is done in the best interests and well-being of every child and family.

· Provide support, guidance, and advice to staff with case management, and development of individual and family plans as needed.

· Support, supervise, and guide workers in providing services to children, youth, adults, and families through programming, workshops, or one-on-one support.

· Support and advise prevention workers in providing services to children/families who are receiving adequate services.

· Conduct case reviews with staff as needed.

· Provide support, guidance, and advice in case planning and supervision with the First Nation Representative, Women and Youth Empowerment Coordinator, and Prevention Workers.

· Preparation of yearly work plans, budgets, and reports.

· Monitor and track all program activities along with financial expenditures for Prevention Services.

· Monitor and track all program activities along with financial expenditures for the First Nations Representative Services.

· Monitor and track all program activities along with financial expenditures for the Women and Youth Empowerment Program.

· Prepare monthly-year reporting for ISC as required for all expenditures and activities.

· Attend regular meetings with ISC Representatives or as required.

· Attend regular meetings with OLCN Directors/Managers.

· Development and implementation of policies/guidelines for programming in accordance with ISC terms & conditions.

· Develop and implement effective processes to gather information, monitor, evaluate, and track data using a variety of methods that allow for analysis, summarization, and reporting.

· Ensure to keep relevant records, forms, and documents as required for reporting.

· Prepares statistical reports for OLCN Executive Director and OLCN Chief & Council summarizing current activities and future planning and/or programs.

· Engages in effective communication with all team members, and senior management to ensure adequate coordination of services.

· Supports a collaborative relationship between Onion Lake Family Services and Onion Lake Cree Nation to ensure optimum service delivery to children and their families and to ensure there is no duplication of programming/activities.

· Supports a collaborative relationship between all schools and community departments to ensure proper education/awareness of program services, workshops, and activities.

· Acts in a professionally appropriate manner both when working and not working ensuring you are a positive role model while representing Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Qualifications:

· B.S.W, B.I.S.W, Degree in the human services field, or equivalent experience may be considered.

· Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act of Saskatchewan.

· Knowledge and understanding of Prevention, CHRT, and First Nations Representative Services Terms & Conditions, guidelines, and ISC reporting requirements.

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

· 3+ years’ experience in Human Services and Management duties.

· Experience in program planning, implementation, evaluation, budgeting & reporting.

· Computer literacy, including effective working skills in MS Word, Xyntax, Excel, and e-mail required.

· Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

· The successful candidate must submit a CPIC with a VSC.

· Ability to travel and work flexible hours.

· The ability to speak Cree is an asset.
