WAGE RATE: $43.19 – $60.83
Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation, the Nursing Coordinator is responsible for the daily service coordination of the rehabilitation unit. The promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions to rehabilitative patients from across Grey and Bruce counties. This includes measures that are supportive, preventative, and therapeutic in order that the client may return to, attain or maintain optimal function. Leadership in this capacity includes facilitating change, supporting multidisciplinary approach to care, enhancing provision of evidence informed practice, working with partners (community and hospital) to ensure best possible patient flow in and out of rehab.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Required
- Ontario College of Nurses registration
- CNA specialty certification in Rehabilitation, or willingness to complete
- Demonstrated ability to provide participatory leadership, team building skills and interprofessional collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to implement new initiatives and process changes
- 2 years Rehabilitative Nursing experience within the last 7 years (Successful completion of Level 1 & 2 of Rehabilitation Nursing) or combined equivalent in geriatrics and medicine
- Demonstrated ability to assist and encourage team members to work to their scope of practice and promote independent, critical thinking skills
- Excellent Time management and organizational skills
- Excellent ability to prioritize work and complete projects/tasks in a timely way
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to patient centered care
- Advanced problem solving, decision making, and assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Experience and demonstrated skills in care of the elderly
- Experience with and ability to demonstrate the principles of Primary Nursing
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
