Position Summary:
The Nursery Care Leader & Church Nanny will lead Sunday morning nursery care at LHCKW and also provide trusted, part-time childcare support to young families within our church during weekday or evening hours (primarily for date nights or short breaks). This position blends childcare and ministry in a beautiful and life-giving way.
Key Responsibilities:
On Sundays (LHCKW Nursery Care):
- Arrive by 7:30am to set up and prepare the nursery space
- Provide safe, loving care to infants and toddlers during service (9:00am–10:30am)
- Communicate with parents and ensure a welcoming environment
- Supervise and direct any volunteer helpers
- Clean and reset the nursery space after service
During the Week (Church Nanny Support):
- Offer in-home childcare to families at scheduled times (primarily evenings for date nights)
- Engage children with age-appropriate activities
- Follow safety and care guidelines provided by parents
- Coordinate scheduling with families based on your availability
Requirements:
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers (formal or informal)
- Reliable transportation (a vehicle is required – public transit is not available in Ayr)
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (required before start date)
- 2–3 references (childcare and character)
- Warm, patient, and trustworthy personality
- CPR/First Aid
- Committed to upholding a safe and Christ-centered environment for all children
Position Details:
- Hours: Approximately 10 hours/week
- Pay: $18/hour
- Schedule: Sunday mornings (required), plus flexible weekday/evening hours for childcare
- Location: LHCKW (Sundays in Waterloo) and family homes in the Kitchener-Waterloo and Ayr
