Nonbiri Cafe is a Japanese-inspired café focused on creating a warm, relaxing space for our guests. “Nonbiri” means to take it slow—and we carry that feeling into every detail, from our handcrafted drinks to our carefully curated desserts and pastries.
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Baker / Pastry Chef to help prepare a selection of Japanese- and French-inspired pastries and desserts. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn and grow while contributing to the café’s daily pastry program.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, and desserts for daily service
- Assist with prep, portioning, and presentation of baked goods
- Support recipe testing and seasonal menu development
- Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and food-safe
- Help with inventory checks and supply restocking as needed
- Work closely with the café team to ensure pastry displays are fresh and appealing
What We’re Looking For
- Previous baking or pastry experience (café, bakery, or culinary training preferred, but not required)
- Passion for pastries, desserts, and learning new techniques
- Attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Interest in Japanese or French dessert styles is an asset
- Reliable, organized, and a good team player
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, or holidays when needed
