The Cleaner is a position integral to the success of Ancaster Mill, and the maintenance of our beautiful, historic facility. This position should be filled by someone who gains incredible satisfaction from looking at a spotless room. The Cleaner will efficiently and thoroughly complete their duties each day, doing a quality job to leave the property in an excellent state of affairs.
The individual in this role is meticulous and takes pride in a spotless, well cared for environment that instils a sense of comfort and trust for guests that they will be treated well at Ancaster Mill.
The Cleaner takes initiative and thinks outside the box when necessary to go beyond their regular routine, persevering until the property is ready to receive guests.
The schedule for this position is overnights Saturday, Sunday, Monday plus an additional one to two other shifts throughout the ween. Some days you will work on your own and busier days will have a team of two.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibit a positive optimism and upbeat personality toward guests and fellow team members
- Demonstrate ability to work independently; scheduling and prioritizing work for self
- Use initiative, accept and handle responsibility and be able to be flexible
- Maintain positive relationships within the team unit as well as with those outside of it, work together with others toward the common goal of success across the property.
- Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit
- Take direction and instruction well from the management teams making note of any special requests
- Maintain all types of flooring; vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and polishing as required
- Dust furniture, trim work, stairs, door frames, corners, etc. to ensure dust free surfaces
- Vacuum all upholstered furniture and use the appropriate equipment to spot clean any fabric stains
- Wash interior windows as required and polish all glass & mirrored surfaces daily to a spotless finish
- Pick up any debris from around the property and restore any out of place items to their appropriate locations
- Empty trash bins (taking care to recycle the appropriate items) and remove all garbage to the outdoor receptacles.
- Spot clean walls and doors as required
- Clean and disinfect all washroom fixtures- toilets, sinks, urinals, counters, taps
- Replenish par levels of toilet tissue, paper towels, tissue, etc in the washrooms
- Tidy and clean all bridal suites being sure to leave them in a spotless, orderly condition
- Demonstrate the ability to understand and communicate instructions orally and in writing
- Prepare the Cleaning Closet and Cart for the day, stocking all supplies as required
- Organize cleaning supplies, ensuring all the necessary labels are in place and easy to read.
- Ensure tools such as wet floor signs, mops, vacuums, etc are taken care of, stored properly and well maintained to ensure maximum equipment life
- Adhere to the Daily Cleaning To Do List, ensuring all items are completed in a timely manner
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently while remaining poised
- Effectively manage your time to ensure organizational efficiency
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience in commercial or residential cleaning preferred
- Has good knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
- Pays great attention to detail and possesses the ability to work independently
- Is self-motivated and task orientated, consistently working on a job until completion and within efficient timelines
- Has the physical stamina necessary to perform tasks and lift heavy objects if required
