About Us: Mobility Transportation Specialists (MTS) is dedicated to providing reliable and safe on-demand and accessible transit services. We are currently seeking motivated and responsible Operators to join our team in North Grenville. This role is vital in ensuring our community receives the best transportation services with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-Shift Duties:
- Check in with the Dispatch Office no less than 45 minutes before the shift via text or call
- Conduct rigorous pre-trip inspections ensuring vehicle safety and operational readiness, including checks on:
- Exterior and interior lighting
- Windshield condition and wipers
- Brakes, gauges, and indicator lights
- HVAC system and safety equipment
- Cleanliness of the vehicle
- Wheelchair ramps and securement belts
- Tire inflation and fluid leaks
- Report any defects, with major safety concerns notified immediately to the Operations Supervisor.
- During Shift Duties:
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner, adhering to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and all company procedures.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all passengers.
- Remain on-duty and ready for service throughout the shift.
- Assist passengers requiring additional help, ensuring they are accompanied by a support person if needed.
- Maintain a smoke-free environment.
- Post-Shift Duties:
- Complete a post-trip report.
- Refuel and clean vehicles at designated Town facilities.
- Daily cleaning tasks include:
- Sweeping floors
- Collecting items left onboard by passengers
- Removing loose debris and spot cleaning interior surfaces
- Disinfecting high-touch areas such as the driver compartment and ledges
- Ensuring all personal belongings are stowed away from view
Requirements:
- Valid G class driver’s license .
- Ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections and report issues promptly.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and company policies rigorously.
- Physical fitness to manage vehicle cleaning and assist passengers, which may include pushing wheelchairs on and off vehicle and safely securing mobility devices
Training and Development:
- MTS will provide comprehensive training to all Operators.
- Uniforms will be provided to maintain a professional appearance.
- Ongoing support and supervision to ensure high standards of service and safety.
