We are seeking a skilled Molecular Gastronomy Chef to join our team on a part-time basis, focusing on preparation for our signature cocktails and avant-garde food garnishes.
Position Overview
This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced molecular gastronomy professional looking to supplement their main role with flexible hours in a high-end dining environment. You will be responsible for preparing all molecular components required for the week, ensuring consistent quality and precision across our menu offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute molecular gastronomy techniques to produce cocktail elements and food garnishes, including:
- Spherification (basic and reverse) for caviar pearls and cocktail enhancements
- Foams and airs for plating and drink presentation
- Gelification and fluid gels for unique textures and visual appeal
- Powders and dehydrated garnishes using maltodextrin and other agents
- Smoke infusions and aromatic presentations for cocktails and dishes
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality of all prepared elements
- Follow strict hygiene, safety, and storage protocols for all molecular preparations
- Work closely with the bar and culinary team to anticipate weekly requirements
- Ensure all preparations are well-documented and reproducible
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of professional culinary experience with a proven focus on molecular gastronomy
- Strong knowledge of hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, stabilizers, and related tools
- Precision, attention to detail, and ability to execute advanced culinary techniques consistently
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a prep-focused role
- Flexibility for 1–2 shifts per week (8–10 hours total)
