MODULAR SUPERINTENDENT
The Modular Superintendent on the Hibco team is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of modular construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and according to company quality standards. This position emphasizes maintaining safety across all aspects of the modular project, from initial planning through to final completion.
The Modular Superintendent will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and tradespeople to coordinate and supervise all phases of the modular construction process. This role requires an experienced and detail-oriented leader with a deep understanding of modular construction techniques and processes. The position reports directly to the Modular Project Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of modular construction projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure efficient assembly and installation of modular units.
- Enforce safety protocols specific to modular construction and ensure compliance with safety regulations through regular site inspections.
- Ensure modular units meet quality standards, building codes, and project specifications, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Resolve any on-site issues related to modular assembly, such as delays, material shortages, or coordination conflicts between trades.
- Track project progress, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment for modular construction are available and properly stored on-site.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, safety records, and client specific requirements.
- Report project updates, challenges, and any issues with modular unit delivery or installation to the Modular Project Manager.
- Foster a collaborative and safe work environment, ensuring all workers adhere to modular construction safety and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-site teams, ensuring adherence to modular construction processes and best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role in modular construction.
- Strong knowledge of modular construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Experience managing multiple projects and working with a variety of trades.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications are required.
- Additional safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, or others are considered an asset.
- Hibco often has projects throughout Alberta and across western Canada. Willingness to travel out of town for work is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

- Effective communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various trades and team members.
Work Conditions:
- Primarily working on construction sites, both indoors and outdoors, in varying weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc.).
- Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting materials as needed.
- Travel between job sites will be necessary. Rotational schedule depending on type of projects assigned.
- Work hours may vary, including occasional overtime, depending on project deadlines and demands.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
