Job Summary
South Etobicoke Therapy is a compassionate, community-based group practice dedicated to making high-quality, in-person therapy more accessible. We are seeking a Men’s Mental Health Psychotherapist to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting men in navigating stress, anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, trauma, grief, relationships, ADHD, and identity challenges. This role is well-suited for a therapist committed to reducing stigma, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, and empowering men to build clarity, resilience, and confidence.
Located just steps from Lake Ontario, our serene office offers a calming environment with the unique option of walk-and-talk therapy in nature.
This is a subcontracting position beginning at 8–12 hours per week, with the potential to grow.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual psychotherapy sessions focused on men’s mental health and well-being.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Support clients with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, substance use, trauma, anger, self-esteem, grief, and identity exploration.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where men can openly explore challenges.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with regulatory college and professional standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive and collegial practice culture.
Skills & Qualifications
- Registered and authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario (e.g., RSW, RP, Psychologist).
- Professional and commercial liability insurance.
- Experience working with men’s issues and/or gender-focused mental health.
- Knowledge of evidence-based modalities (CBT, ACT, EFT, DBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, etc.).
- Familiarity with trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, or body-oriented approaches is an asset.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and boundary-setting skills.
Position Details
- Commitment: 8–12 hours/week.
- Format: In-person/virtual sessions at our office.
- Compensation: $105.00 per clinical hour.
- Caseload: Primarily individual adult men; referrals provided to help build your practice.
