SUMMARY
Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village is seeking new members to serve on the volunteer Governance Board of Directors. The Board is legally responsible for the governance of the affairs for the organization. Successful candidates will join a committed group of professionals from various backgrounds who strongly believe in the mission of Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village to foster quality of life for seniors through the provision of services that address the needs of the individual.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that provides services to seniors in the Niagara Region. The organization encompasses two sites – St. Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Facilities at these two locations house over 500 seniors in various living arrangements. We offer rental apartments, Life Lease apartments or Bungalows.
Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village is one of the largest providers of services for seniors in Ontario. Several levels of care are provided at the St. Catharines site from completely independent living, assisted living and long-term care. COMMITMENT OF SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS:
- Attend and contribute to a monthly board meeting (approximately 2 hours per month). Board does not meet July/August and December. Meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month via zoom with one or two meetings onsite throughout the year.
- Review agenda and supporting materials prior to meetings.
- Minimum of a three-year term to a maximum of three terms.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- We are seeking professional experience with executive leadership across all industries. Legal, financial or IT experience will be considered an asset but not necessary. Recently retired professionals welcome to apply.
- Comfort with attending zoom meetings and reviewing documents via email/web.
- In accordance with our by-laws, board members cannot be staff members of Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village, residents or first degree relatives of a resident.
- Board Members must reside in the Niagara Region where Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village operates and must be at least the age of majority.
- 1 year of Management experience (preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
