Seeking a Medical Secretary to staff a solo practitioner’s office in Orangeville. Candidate needs to have good communication and computer skills. You will be required to work with an EMR. Duties include scheduling patients, following up on reports, proof reading letters and liaison between physician and patient. No weekends, no walk in’s. Permanent full time or part time flexible 24-40. Training on EMR and other office procedures will be provided. Hourly pay commensurate with experience and skills. Residence in Dufferin county with work experience in a medical setting preferred. Suitable candidate(s) will be called for interview and can start work as soon as possible. Reliability and honesty required.
Responsibilities
Schedule appointments.
Upload all documents into EMR and efile in patient charts.
Upload consult requests and triage them with physician input.
Liaison between doctor and patient.
Minor corrections before faxing letters.
Communicate by fax, telephone and email with doctor’s offices, pharmacy, patient and hospital.
Some trouble shooting of computer equipment.
Requirements and skills
- Experience as a medical secretary or similar administrative role
- Knowledge of medical terminology, and simple medical office procedures
- Knowledge of computer and typing skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Previous experience with an EMR
- High school diploma; additional training in Medical Administration is a plus
