Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting and possess strong administrative skills. As the first point of contact for patients, the Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. This position requires proficiency in electronic medical records and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems
- Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries or directing calls as needed
- Process patient information and insurance details efficiently
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records systems such as Accuro or Oscar is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in office software applications and general office experience is required
- Experience working with front desk operations and managing patient interactions is essential
