Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires proficiency in managing administrative tasks, handling electronic medical records, and delivering excellent customer service at the front desk.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist with the check-in process.
- Manage phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and provide information about services.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Assist with billing and insurance verification processes.
- Coordinate patient flow within the office to optimize efficiency.
- Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with dental receptionists and other staff to ensure seamless operations within the dental office setting.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office is preferred.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic medical record systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and administrative procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using phone systems and basic office equipment.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is advantageous.
