Medical Office Assistant
Garneau Endocrinology is seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team of eight specialists, two registered dieticians, and two MOAs.
Duties:
- work at reception desk, greeting and checking in patients
- take telephone calls and check voicemail
- manage all administrative tasks related to the Insulin Pump Therapy Program
- perform other administrative tasks such as booking appointments, processing incoming referrals, keeping track of and following up on outcoming referrals, responding to patient inquiries, responding to physician messages, faxing and copying documents, processing incoming and outgoing mail/faxes, and assisting in the scheduling of learners in the clinic
- when needed room patients, take vital signs, weight, height; enter vital signs and medication lists into EMR
- ensure efficient flow of patients through clinic
- monitor clinic supply inventory; order and restock supplies
- other duties as required
Qualifications:
- training in an accredited MOA program is preferred
- experience with EMR systems (Connect Care/Epic proficiency is preferred)
- minimum 3 years work experience in a medical clinic or hospital is preferred
- strong leadership skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision
- excellent interpersonal skills
Hours:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary:
$26-$28 per hour
