Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Skinner to join our slaughterhouse team. The Skinner is responsible for the safe, efficient, and precise removal of hides from carcasses during the meat processing stage. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, animal welfare compliance, and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the skinning of beef carcasses using knives, saws, or mechanical tools
- Ensure hides are removed cleanly without damaging the carcass or contaminating the meat
- Follow humane handling practices and slaughter regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of knives, workstations, and PPE
- Adhere strictly to food safety, HACCP, and plant hygiene protocols
- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with other slaughter line roles
- Report equipment issues or processing concerns to supervisor
- Lift, move, and handle carcasses safely using mechanical assistance as needed
- Comply with all occupational health and safety regulations

Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Skinner or in meat processing preferred
- Strong knife-handling and meat-cutting skills required
- Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding conditions
- Comfortable working around blood, carcasses, and animal by-products
- Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions closely
- Good physical fitness: capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work early hours and occasional overtime

- Certification in meat cutting or butchery
- WHMIS, Food Safety, or HACCP training
- Experience in federally or provincially inspected facilities
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset in Quebec
