Responsibilities:

Teach high school-level Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in alignment with the British Columbia (BC) curriculum.
Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to diverse student learning needs and abilities.
Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, real-world applications, and interactive teaching methods to engage students and deepen their understanding of STEM subjects.
Communicate regularly with education consultants regarding student progress, areas for improvement, and the next steps in their academic development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or other STEM subjects.
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology based on the BC high school curriculum.
Familiarity with IB or AP curricula is a strong asset.
Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written) to effectively engage with students and provide feedback.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported.
Proficient in using educational technology and online platforms to enhance learning, especially in hybrid or online teaching situations.
Experience with developing customized lesson plans and adjusting teaching methods based on individual student needs.

BLUBC Specific Requirements:

Ability to design customized course outlines for students that meet their specific academic goals.
Provide and evaluate relevant homework after each class and return assessments in a timely manner.
Conduct regular assessments and offer detailed feedback on student progress.
Work closely with BLUBC education consultants to ensure alignment between teaching strategies and student objectives.
Adhere to all BLUBC policies, procedures, and guidelines for teaching and student care.
Be available for in-person teaching sessions as required, while also being open to online sessions when necessary.
