THE ROLE
The Martial Arts Instructor designs and develops martial arts program syllabus/content and lesson plans within the guidelines of a recognized certifying organization. The Martial Arts Instructor plans, organizes and delivers martial arts classes within the guidelines of a recognized certifying organization, and instructs and leads recreation classes for different ages and abilities levels, and monitors classes to ensure safety and provides emergency or first aid assistance when required. The incumbent also attends to clients with special needs.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years experience conducting classes
AND
Current applicable speciality certification (eg. Judo NCCP 2) by a provincial or nationally recognized certifying organization (eg. Judo Canada) OR 100+ Hours of experience in the coaching of martial arts
Current CPR and Standard First Aid qualifications
Current Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Operator Certificate
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification and Quest 2 certification, HIGH FIVE, as required
