Job Title: Manager, Travel & Camp
Reporting to the General Manager Eskay Creek, The Manager, Travel & Camp, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of travel logistics and camp operations supporting the Eskay Creek project. This includes leadership of the Travel and Camp Services teams, ensuring smooth and safe travel for all personnel, efficient contractor management, and high standards of living conditions at site. This role is pivotal in ensuring workforce safety and well-being, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic and remote environment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and manage the Travel and Camp Services teams.
- Foster a culture of service, accountability, and respect, both within the department and with external service providers.
Travel Logistics Oversight
- Oversee all travel logistics for site personnel, including flights, bus services, vehicle rentals, and shuttles to local communities.
- Analyze and evaluate potential travel logistics scenarios (e.g., flight schedules, ground transport models, camp capacity adjustments), and present data-driven recommendations to management to support operational and cost-effective decision-making.
- Resolve escalated issues related to travel disruptions with decisiveness and professionalism.
- Maintain and improve systems for booking, check-in, and employee roster tracking, including use of INX InFlight.
Camp Operations Management
- Ensure consistent, high-quality camp operations including catering, housekeeping, janitorial, and accommodations, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and employee well-being.
- Support emergency response protocols related to travel or camp infrastructure.
Contract and Vendor Management
- Lead contract tendering and contractor management for all travel and camp service scopes, including but not limited to charter flights, coach buses, passenger shuttles, catering, and housekeeping. Ensure service providers are selected based on performance, cost, safety, and alignment with Skeena’s values.
- Monitor service contracts, ensuring strong vendor performance, cost control, and compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve escalated issues related to contractor performance with professionalism.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety, HR, Site Security, and Project teams to align support services with workforce schedules and site activities.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across travel and camp service functions, including feedback loops and performance tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and corporate standards including those related to site access and substance screening.
All other duties as reasonably assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business, hospitality, logistics, or a related field preferred.
Experience / Skills
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in remote logistics, camp services, or travel coordination in mining, energy, or similar sectors, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Proven experience in contract tendering, vendor negotiations, and performance oversight across multiple service areas.
- Familiarity with travel management systems (e.g., INX InFlight) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and external partners.
- Understanding of site access protocols, health and safety regulations, and Indigenous engagement principles is an asset.
- Experience working in or supporting FIFO (fly-in fly-out) operations is required
- Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters
- Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$140,000- CA$170,000 , in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
