Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Finance and Human Resources to join our dynamic team. The Finance and Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing financial and human resources functions for the registered charity , Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC).
This includes the day to day bookkeeping, conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports; use of quick books and maintaining an effective system of accounting; managing the contractor invoice payments and maintaining accurate financial records for audit. The position is also responsible for the day- to-day operations of Human Resources, which includes responsibilities in functional areas such as, contractor relations, training and development, and compensation.
The position works in collaboration with other management and administrative team members. This role requires a strong understanding of financial services, risk management, and Human Resources to optimize resource utilization and drive organizational success.
Duties
Finance
- Conduct comprehensive risk analysis and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks.
- Oversee account reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Collaborate with the board and staff to manage corporate finance functions, including budgeting and cost management.
- Develop and implement resource allocation strategies that align with business objectives.Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Issuing invoices for NSWOCC
- Maintains the general ledger and prepares monthly journal entries
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits
- Assist with management of insurances. ( Director’s and Officer’s Liability Insurance, Commercial general Liability and Office Package)
- Review and maintain business registration
- Review and prepare contractor invoices monthly - set up ACH through RBC Express for invoice payments which are approved and released by the CEO
- File GST rebates
- Balance sheet reconciliations with discrepancy investigation and resolution
- Support the annual financial audit
Human Resources
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal a requirements ( Canada)
- Prepare offer letters for new contractors
- Preparation of Contractor Contract Agreements and supporting documentation
- Organise and support NSWOCC Leadership with their recruitment activities
- Contractor relations- including managing absence, disciplinaries, grievances Coordinate the onboarding and training of new Contractors
- Ensure Contractors have completed required training e.g Indigenous Cultural Safety
- Ensure Managers complete annual performance development reviews
- Complete all Verification of Contractor background checks, signed contract agreements, collection of resume’s keeping them on file.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Skilled in the use of Quickbooks
- Advanced Excel including pivot tables, formulas, able to work independently using their own initiative, able to communicate effectively and detail oriented.
EXPERIENCE
- Five years of bookkeeping experience in a non-profit required
- Five years of experience working in a registered charity is preferred
- Experience in both finance and human resource functions required.
- Prepare reports on resource usage, project performance, and financial metrics for senior management review.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on resource needs and project goals.
Requirements

- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
- Demonstrated ability in cost management and financial services.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $70,754.46-$92,558.42 per year
