ROLE
- Direct and supervise departmental functions, implementing policies to meet corporate and departmental goals
- Coordinate staff efforts and administrative activities for efficient operations while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, analyze financial indicators, and submit variance reports.
- Oversee inventory control and facilitate the evaluation of products and equipment.
- Foster a motivating work environment, support staff development, and manage scheduling in compliance with union contracts.
- Supervise, interview, and evaluate staff performance while providing coaching and guidance.
- Maintain statistical data on departmental efficiency and patient satisfaction, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate on accreditation efforts and patient safety initiatives, developing educational tools and training for staff.
- Assist in planning patient care program expansions, participate in leadership meetings, and maintain professional development.
- Prepare reports for regulatory bodies and perform additional duties as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Nursing required
- Minimum of 5 years of current progressive professional experience with a focus in intensive care
- Minimum of 3 years of current progressive leadership experience in a unionized
- Current Regulated Health Care Provider in good standing with their governing body
- Recognized credentials in medical/surgical nursing, and critical care nursing an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Multi-Site, working in person at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville.
