The Manager, Creative oversees the creation and execution of diverse projects, from daily deliverables to large-scale campaigns. This role involves designing and applying brand aesthetics, developing strategic creative concepts, and maintaining design consistency. The position may require collaboration with external partners for signage, print, and digital campaign executions. The Manager, Creative also stays updated on current design trends and agile methodologies to adjust project goals as needed.
The role includes ensuring that all creative solutions meet brand objectives and are delivered on time and budget. The Manager, Creative will review and/or approve creative from internal and external team members, ensuring design consistency and appropriate application. Effective communication with internal and external partners is crucial to the role, as well as preparing and distributing project components within required timeframes.
Additionally, the Manager, Creative contributes to customer satisfaction goals by advocating for the customer and providing insights to project strategies. The position involves leading and presenting creative solutions, updating brand guidelines, and maintaining design templates. Leadership responsibilities also include inspiring, mentoring, and developing team members, fostering a culture of continual learning and diversity of thought. The Manager, Creative may manage the analysis of competitive advertising activity and the work of external agencies, optimizing content and placements.
Skills and Knowledge:
- 8+ years of experience in agency or in-house creative studio
- Post-secondary degree in design and/or any related field, with relevant experiences and portfolios
- Good interpersonal skills & ability to translate business and user requirements into functional designs.
- In-depth understanding of user-centric design methodologies which have been successfully put into practice
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while balancing design requirements
- Expertise with Adobe, Figma and all relevant design tools
- Experience working in a team-based, fast-paced Agile development environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
