Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing care of our facility through effective maintenance practices. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, performing repairs, and overseeing maintenance activities to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete general building repairs, including doors, locks, frames, and handles.
- Prep, patch, and paint drywall.
- Carry out basic plumbing repairs (unclogging drains, fixing leaks, repairing toilets).
- Help to maintain outdoor spaces, including mowing & trimming
- Provide snow and ice removal during winter months & ensure proper scheduling of parking lot clearing.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Perform other upkeep tasks as needed to maintain property standards.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance needs that require external support
- Complete monthly building maintenance checks and schedule inspections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property maintenance, repairs, or a similar role.
- Strong practical repair and troubleshooting skills — able to diagnose and fix a range of small building and equipment issues.
- Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector & Child & Youth Intervention Check.
- Hardworking, punctual, and detail oriented.
- Consistent and dependable attendance
- Willing to teach new skills to young people who access our services
- Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively.
- Able to lift moderately heavy objects and use power tools safely.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 25 per week
