COHO Management Services Society is a non-profit organization providing management for BC’s housing co-operatives. We have been in business for over 35 years and are the largest provider of property management services to housing co-ops in BC. COHO staff are organized in Local 3000 of UNIFOR.
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibilities that uphold the good condition and functionality of multiple co-op sites. At the direction of the Manager of Field Operations, you’ll perform various services to assigned Vancouver clients, as coordinated by the Maintenance Coordinator.
The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge in several trade skills such as electrical, plumbing, drywalling etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
· Access and use of a reliable vehicle
- You must have your own basic tools
- Perform manual labour task – such as lifting, and moving materials
- General knowledge of general maintenance process and methods
- Can use troubleshooting logic to trace faults and repair them
- Reliable and have excellent people skills
- Flexible and friendly and have a professional attitude
- Experience in email use and ability to use a company smart phone for communication
- Extensive handyperson skills and experience:
- Basic plumbing & heating
- Carpentry
- Locks replacement
- Painting
- Drywall repairs
- Routine electrical repairs
- Routine appliance repairs
- Caulking and grouting
- Tile work
- Suite cleaning
- Grounds work
- Roof and drain cleaning, when safe
- Routine maintenance on building systems if required

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position requires flexibility to work outside of regular hours (i.e., evenings and weekends) when necessary. This position will be on multiple housing co-operatives with frequent activities and travel in and around the Lower Mainland.
