About you:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Millwright to join our maintenance team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment, utility systems and automated machinery in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of precision machinery, adherence to strict quality and safety standards, and a commitment to minimizing downtime in a critical manufacturing environment.
What you will do:
Perform preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including but not limited to:
CNC machines, mills, and other machining equipment
Robotics and automated assembly systems (nice to have)
Injection molding machines (must have)
Cleanroom support equipment (must have)
Conveyors, pumps, valves, and piping systems
HVAC systems and dust collection units
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production equipment using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. (must have)
Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble machinery and equipment, ensuring precise alignment and calibration (must have) .
Fabricate and machine parts as required for repairs and modifications. (extremely nice to have)
Perform rigging and hoisting of heavy machinery and components safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other maintenance technicians to optimize equipment performance and resolve complex issues.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, repair logs, and parts inventory.
Support facility and equipment commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and calibration activities
Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending solutions to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
Participate in EHS programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and risk assessments.
Ensure work areas meet cleanliness and contamination control standards in classified environments.
Assist with equipment relocation, layout changes, and site infrastructure modifications as needed.
What you will need:
Valid Millwright Journeyman certification/license.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech preferred)
Strong working knowledge of cGMP, ISO 13485, and EHS compliance requirements. (plus)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Demonstrated experience with precision alignment, balancing, and calibration techniques.
Experience with PLC troubleshooting (basic understanding of inputs/outputs) is an asset.
Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical positions, including confined spaces and at heights.
Bonus points for:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
Knowledge of specific medical device manufacturing processes (e.g., sterile environments, cleanroom protocols).
Additional certifications in related trades (e.g., electrical, instrumentation).
Working Conditions:
Majority of time spent on shop floor and production areas (cleanrooms, mechanical spaces, etc.)
Will require wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per company policy.
