Job Summary:
The Hot Wire Operator / Blockmolder is responsible for operating and maintaining foam cutting lines, including contour cutters and related equipment, to produce high-quality products according to established standards. This role involves precise measurement, quality inspection, and teamwork to ensure efficient production processes. This is a Casual position. 2nd shift: 7am - 3pm.
What you will do:
- Operate cutting lines, including contour cutters and foam block cutting equipment, from setup to completion (cutting, labeling, packing, and cleanup).
- Ensure all products meet quality and specification standards.
- Perform secondary tasks on equipment such as valley cutters, saws, and other machinery as required.
- Accurately complete all necessary production paperwork and documentation.
- Assist with training and providing direction to line helpers.
- Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Knowledge:
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to instruct and guideline helpers.
- Minimum of Grade 12 education (or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret tape measurements in both metric and imperial units to 1/32”.
- Proficiency in basic math, including multiplication and division.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a safe and efficient manner.
- Willingness to assist in training new employees as needed.
