The role
This is a perfect role to get into the Heavy Equipment trade or for the retiree! Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Lot Attendant will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work independently and efficiently maintaining, controlling, moving, and caring for heavy trucks and trailers in a busy truck dealership. The hours of work are Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm
Transport and Delivery – 50% and it's important!
- Delivers and transports new and used vehicles to customers and body builders as required
- Moves sold vehicles to maximize the use of space and keep the lot in order
- Move vehicles between the lot and other locations, such as gas stations and service centersParks new trucks in assigned areas
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the vehicle inventory
General Maintenance – 50% of your time is spent here
- Maintains fuel and fluid levels
- Wash, detail, and perform routine maintenance on trucks
- Yard maintenance: Sweep, empty trash, and maintain the appearance of the yard
- Movement of vehicle inventory between different lots and dealerships
- Assist mechanics and other personnel with various labor tasks
- Maintain a safe work environment, obey safety rules, and wear required safety PPE
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license
- Demonstrated skill in performing at a high level of quality
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
