Job purpose

At Via Cibo restaurant, our guests are immersed in food and cooking. You’re the star of the show as you prepare our quality, Italian inspired menu in front of our guests in a fast casual environment. As Line Cook, you have a leading role in all kitchen positions and equipment.

Duties and responsibilities

· Contribute to a positive team environment

· Expertly fulfill all assigned kitchen position and equipment requirements

· Create all food and beverage items to the highest standard following recipes and procedures

· Anticipate and respond to flow of orders to ensure timely completion of all food items

· Assist with training new team members for positions in the kitchen/dish area

· Accurately complete all station set up and closing procedures

· Maintain food quality control and productivity at all times

· Maintain cleanliness and health & safety standards of your station at all times

· Follow all operational policies and procedures

· Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Food handler certification required
• Experience as a cook in a high intensity, fast-paced environment required – at least two years
• Culinary diploma is an asset

Physical requirements

· Constant standing/walking for duration of shift on a hot cooking line

· Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40lbs
