We are a vibrant and growing Indian restaurant known for our authentic flavours and warm hospitality. Our kitchen is passionate about delivering traditional and modern Indian dishes, with a special focus on North Indian specialties, biryanis, and tandoor preparations.
We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Indian cooking, especially with tandoor operations and dum-style biryani preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate the tandoor oven to cook naan, tandoori meats, kebabs, and other items.
- Make dum-style rice and prepare dum biryanis with precision and consistency.
- Ensure that all food is cooked and presented according to kitchen standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with prep work and daily mise en place.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Manage inventory and report any shortages of ingredients or supplies.
- Follow hygiene and sanitation protocols at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a line cook in an Indian kitchen (2+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in operating a tandoor oven.
- Expertise in preparing dum rice and authentic biryanis.
- Relocation Requirement: The candidate must be flexible and willing to relocate to Niagara Falls for this full-time, on-site position. Relocation support may be discussed during the hiring process.
- Knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
