The Opportunity
Situated a block (and a skip) up from Lake Cowichan, Youbou Bar & Grill is a neighbourhood pub that focuses on locally sourced ingredients, wineries, and breweries - redefining the name of "Bar & Grill".
We are currently seeking an energetic, eager, and ambitious Line Cook to join our group of world-class chefs.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked.
- Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
- Report to the Head Chef and follow instructions accordingly.
- Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
- Stock inventory and supplies.
- Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
What You Have
- 1+ years of experience in the same or a similar role.
- Enthusiastic and committed to guest satisfaction.
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Availability to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
