Job Summary
As an Experienced Line Cook at Athens Restaurant, you will play a key role in preparing and delivering high-quality Greek dishes while maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellence. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in Greek or Mediterranean cuisine, who understands the nuances of traditional Greek cooking and can bring creativity, authenticity, and passion to every dish. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes. Using various cooking methods like grilling, frying, sautéing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook traditional Greek dishes, including but not limited to moussaka, souvlaki, tzatziki, spanakopita , ensuring exceptional quality and flavor in every dish
- Ensure consistency and authenticity in food preparation, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared efficiently and on time, especially during peak hours
- Monitor inventory and stock levels, ensuring the kitchen is always equipped with fresh ingredients necessary for preparing Greek dishes
- Collaborate with management to assist in menu planning and the development of new Greek-inspired dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and health regulations
- Assist in daily prep work by ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready for service, reducing downtime
- Adapt to customer preferences, ensuring dishes can be modified for dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free) without compromising quality
Qualifications
- Extensive experience (3+ years) as a Line Cook, with a strong focus on Greek or Mediterranean cuisine
- Deep knowledge and appreciation of traditional Greek cooking techniques, ingredients, and dishes
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining a high level of organization, efficiency, and quality
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays
