- Lead the patient experience by delivering outstanding customer service.
- Provide clinical support to the orthodontist with a high level of technical assisting skills.
- Take high-quality intraoral records, panoramic x-rays, radiographs, and patient photographs.
- Perform iTero scans with precision.
- Ensure strict adherence to RCDSO infection control protocols through proper sterilization procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Treatment Coordinator to integrate new patients into the practice seamlessly.
- Assist during orthodontic examinations by entering notes in the patient’s chart and capturing important details from the doctor-patient discussion.
- Review treatment plans with patients and use visual aids (videos, presentations, images) to educate and explain available treatment options.
- Manage and upload all orthodontic records accurately.
- Take ownership of the records room, ensuring it is organized and up to date.
- Oversee supply inventory, restock as needed, and coordinate equipment maintenance.
- Educate patients and families on oral health care and best practices.
- Help manage clinic flow, ensuring the team stays on schedule and patient care is prioritized.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
- Experience in a dental or medical clinical setting is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a Level II Dental Assistant Certificate is required.
- HARP certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with orthodontic practice management software is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, team members, and clinicians.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management abilities.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and sound decision-making.
