About the Role:
As a Laundry Associate, you will be responsible for processing, cleaning, and distributing linens to ensure a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality linens throughout the hotel. As part of the pre-opening team, you will help establish laundry operations, organize supplies, and ensure the laundry department is fully prepared for the hotel’s opening.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and process soiled linens safely and in compliance with operating
procedures.
- Operate washers, dryers, and folding equipment efficiently and according to
standards.
- Inspect linen regularly for damage, wear, or sub-standard conditions and report
issues to your supervisor.
- Folding linen and ensuring it is properly sorted by size
- Report malfunctioning equipment, supply shortages, or damaged linens promptly to
supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area at all times.
- Empty lint traps daily to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in compliance with training and WHMIS
guidelines.
- Refill clean linens, amenities, and supplies in floor stockrooms daily.
- Support department safety procedures and emergency protocols to protect guests
and employees.
- Provide friendly and courteous service when interacting with guests or colleagues.
- Assist with additional housekeeping or laundry duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality laundry is an
asset.
- Strong attention to detail with efficient and thorough work habits.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Positive, energetic attitude with good time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, lift up to 40 lbs, and
perform repetitive tasks.
Health & Safety:
- Follow Hyatt’s Health & Safety Program and all Occupational Health & Safety
regulations.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling of
cleaning chemicals.
- Report all accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately to a supervisor.
- Participate in health and safety initiatives, contributing to a safe workplace.
- Maintain safe practices by promoting the “Clean as You Go” policy in the laundry
department.
