Do you love the outdoors, love working with great people and have a good understanding of proper horticulture, landscaping and maintenance techniques in residential settings.
Our garden maintenance crew is a crucial part of our team. We are looking for people who know a weed from a perennial, and who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty to keep our customers' properties looking there best.
We wrap up by the first of December. Working days are from Monday to Friday. We are looking for a subcontractor seasonal staff that can work Aug-Dec
Main Duties
Amending soil, weeding, fertilizing, perennial care, pruning and trimming (boxwoods and Yews hedges)
Operate small equipment like backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.
Pest management
Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals
Spring and Fall clean up
Build gardens – site setup, digging and wheelbarrowing, planting, soil amending and mulching
Take direction and work alongside team leaders
Follow on-site health and safety procedures
Job Requirements
Physically capable of lifting 40 pounds or more, and repetitive tasks
Your in a horticulture program or 1-2 years minimum work related experience
Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
High attention to detail
Knowledge of Plant material, experience in pruning and hedge trimming
Team oriented and able to complete all tasks assigned
Problem-solving skills necessary to solve team and/or client issues on site
Hard working, excellent time management, self-motivated and a strong work ethic
Excellent communication skills
Team player
You live in Oakville, Burlington or the Mississauga Area (saving on time to get to work and gas)
You bring to the job your own tools
Must have a vehicle to get to sites
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 3.5 months
Pay: $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
