What to Expect:
We are looking for a Labour Scheduler responsible for ensuring resources are trained, available, and scheduled to meet production needs while following Nestle policies, Employment Standards Act and collective agreement. This is a role that will require flexibility.
A day in the life of a Labour Scheduler
- Work closely with the production planner to prepare manpower schedules for the whole plant on a weekly basis according to the collective agreement
- Review Long Term production schedule requirements to optimize labour and determine training needs
- Analyze, assess and communicate manpower requirements
- Attend daily and weekly meetings to discuss and follow up on production schedule requirements and changes
- Plan around modified work, weekly indemnity and WSIB
- Prepare overtime requirement sheet and schedule for weekend work
- Coordinate and plan vacations and other time off into the weekly schedules
- Update employee skills matrix
- Work overtime flexible schedule as required
- Time spent in plant and office
- Other duties as assigned
- Prepare and present supply chain performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
Role Requirements
- College diploma, university degree or equivelent in related experience
- Proficient computer skills – specifically with Microsoft Office products
- Experience scheduling production in a manufacturing environment an asset
- Strong relationship building skills and positive outlook
- Strict attention to detail while working in a fast-paced, high demand environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong aptitude for learning new technology and leveraging technology for best practices and processes
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with confidential and personal information discretely and professionally
