Job Summary
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for routine data handling tasks (e.g., entry, organization, analysis) for the Laboratory of Dr. Ryan Hoiland.
Organizational Status
The Laboratory Assistant will report directly to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ryan Hoiland.

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for routine data handling tasks (e.g., entry, organization, analysis) for the Laboratory of Dr. Ryan Hoiland.

Work Performed
- Assist in data entry
- Assist in organization of data (e.g., assisting with RedCap database). This includes populating a RedCap database with clinical data. Further, this may include adding new fields to a RedCap database.
- Assist in the analysis of clinical data. This includes using laboratory standard operating procedures to analyze MRI brain scans.

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Appropriate knowledge of research ethics is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, data entry, and database management.
- Good Clinical Practice and Dangerous Goods training is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to be thorough, organized, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.
