About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Kitchen Supervisor who will work side by side with our team in the kitchen at least 75% of the time. This role is ideal for someone with experience preparing meals that are both nutritious and kid-approved, with a proven ability to lead, train, and organize a busy kitchen environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example—work directly in the kitchen cooking, prepping, and plating meals (75% of time)
- Supervise and support a team of 3–5 kitchen staff
- Maintain consistency and quality across all meals served
- Plan prep schedules and ensure daily production quotas are met
- Oversee kitchen organization and cleanliness, ensuring all Food Safe standards are met
- Manage inventory, supplier orders, and stock rotation (25% of time)
- Track and minimize food waste, help implement portioning systems - using Optimum Control system (previous experience a definite asset with this system)
- Support new team member onboarding and daily task delegation
- Communicate effectively with leadership to ensure kitchen goals are aligned with company vision
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience in meal prep, catering, or high-volume production
- Proven experience creating meals for kids that are both healthy and enjoyable (mandatory)
- Leadership experience—supervising at least 3 team members
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured kitchen environment
- Food Safe Certification (required)
- Organized, punctual, and solutions-focused
Nice to Have:
- Experience with child nutrition programs or school meal prep
- Familiarity with allergy-safe cooking and cross-contamination prevention
- Bilingual or multilingual (asset, not required)
