Job Overview:
Sydney Boutique Inn & Suites is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Staff member to join our culinary team. This position focuses on breakfast preparation and service, ensuring our guests start their day with a delightful and satisfying meal. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Breakfast Preparation:
- Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items, including eggs, pastries, cereals, fruits, and beverages.
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Set up the breakfast buffet with a variety of hot and cold items, ensuring it is well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations during food preparation and storage.
2. Service:
- Serve breakfast items to guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Monitor the breakfast area, promptly replenishing items as needed.
- Assist guests with special dietary needs or requests, providing excellent customer service.
- Clear and clean tables, ensuring a tidy and welcoming dining area.
3. Kitchen and Equipment Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces before, during, and after service.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Follow proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.
4. Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor inventory levels of breakfast items and supplies, informing the supervisor of any shortages.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and hotel departments to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Assist with training new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role, particularly in breakfast preparation, is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
