The Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen team with food preparation, cleaning, and general organization to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. This role is crucial for maintaining cleanliness, assisting chefs and cooks, and helping with basic food prep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out garbage
- Assist cooks and chefs by delivering ingredients, tools, and prepared dishes
- Stock and organize food supplies, dry goods, and kitchen equipment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Help with plating and garnishing when needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned by kitchen supervisors or chefs
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Previous kitchen experience is an asset but not required
Work Environment:
- Hot, busy, and physically demanding kitchen environment
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
