KIDZ CLUB After School Care Support Worker

DAYS & HOURS:
Casual and part time, Monday to Friday, 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Additional hours for staff meetings, Professional Development (Pro D), Early Dismissal Days and school breaks will be scheduled.
WAGE:
Starts at $24.00 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The KIDZ Club Support Worker works with the staff team to supervise, support, and care for one to three children who are differently abled from kindergarten to grade 5.
- Follow recommendations and strategies in children’s care plans to support their participation and success in program, which could include physical transfers, help with toileting, etc.
- Support child within a small group of children to support social skills and integration
- Help to set up activities at the beginning of the day and make sure that strategies are in place to accommodate the child’s needs
- Use a variety of techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing
- Improve social skills and problem-solving abilities through discussions and cooperative activities
- Help children manage their stress level and emotions when they are dysregulated
- Make notes and document successes, issues and needs
REQUIREMENTS
Staff must provide:
- A clear criminal record check
- Immunization record/or letter of conscientious objection
- Three references
QUALIFICATIONS
- previous experience working with school aged children
- Experience and training relating to children with disabilities or children who are neurodiverse an asset
