Key Responsibilities
The Junior Designer provides drafting and design support to project teams and senior staff. This role involves translating design information into accurate drawings and gaining experience with construction documentation standards.
Design Support
- Prepare preliminary engineering calculations
- Help create plans, elevations, and details
- Reference manufacturer specs and standard templates when drafting
- Review completed work for accuracy
Drafting Support
- Assist in the preparation of construction and permit drawings
- Apply markups from engineers and senior designers
- Ensure line weights, layering, and scaling follow CAD standards
- Maintain drawing organization and version control
Team Collaboration
- Work under supervision of intermediate and senior designers/engineers to support project deadlines
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines for drawing integration
- Participate in internal drawing reviews
- Actively participate in improving and advancing design templates, details and specifications
Construction Assistance
- Make drawing updates based on field reports or RFIs
- Assist with record drawings and redlines during project close-out
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- A degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of 4 experience
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects/tasks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams)
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Effective communication skills (English), both verbal and written
- French is an asset
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range $60,000 to $75,000 based on experience
