We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Door Hardware Consultant to join our team, specializing in commercial building projects.
No prior experience in door hardware is required — we provide comprehensive training and mentorship.
This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with an interest in construction, architecture, or building systems who are eager to learn and grow within a supportive, hands-on environment. In this role, you will assist in reviewing architectural plans, creating hardware schedules, and ensuring compliance with building codes and security standards. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience in construction consulting and specialized building products under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to interpret architectural drawings and floor plans
- Learn and apply building code requirements (ADA, NFPA, ANSI/BHMA, IBC) to hardware solutions
- Shadow experienced team members in client meetings and vendor discussions
- Support preparation of door hardware specifications and submittals under the guidance of a Senior Consultant
- Assist in reviewing drawings and schedules for commercial building projects
- Coordinate with internal teams, manufacturers, and contractors
- Maintain project files, hardware sets, and revision logs
- Gain exposure to access control systems and electronic hardware
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions
- Stay informed about industry standards and product innovations
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary education in construction, architecture, drafting, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Interest in door hardware, security systems, or the commercial building industry
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow structured processes
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn project and industry-specific software (training provided)
- Curiosity and commitment to growing a career in this specialized field
