Hometown Law is expanding and looking to hire an additional Junior Clerk/Administrative Assistant to join our growing, dynamic team!
Hometown Law specializes in residential real estate law, Wills and Estates. We have been voted as Hamilton's Readers' Choice Best Real Estate Law firm and Law Firm for 8 years in a row.
We are looking for someone who is organized, reliable, has solid computer and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, and is customer service oriented.
Our law firm provides benefits, free parking at our office located on Hamilton Mountain near Limeridge Mall. Our office has a collegial environment, and we're looking to find someone who will be a great fit for our Hometown Law team.
This role will support administrative functions in our law office.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various administrative tasks including opening real estate files and sending introductory emails and documents to clients.
- Liaise with other assistants, clerks, and lawyer regularly regarding file updates.
- Organizational tasks including printing, scanning, photocopying, filing, and emailing.
- Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders via telephone and written communications.
- Answering phones and taking ID.
- Complete bank runs and attend various local financial institutions to make bank deposits and deliver cheques.
- Have attention to detail while working efficiently under time constraints.
- Initiate and/or actively participate in the day-to-day activities of the office. We are looking for someone who will take initiative in our office.
Qualifications
- Experience in a legal environment or professional services is a requirement. Ability to read an Agreement of Purchase and sale is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide customer service to our clients, and ability to work as a team.
- Highly self-motivated, friendly, and professional.
- Ability to maintain and comply with confidentiality requirements.
- Well organized with high level of accuracy and proof-reading. Organization, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and written.
- Proficiency with Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and Unity Practice management is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
