JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT BRM
- Recruit, coach, develop and motivate team to create a work environment that retains personnel who deliver innovative, value add IT services across the business.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the business analyst team, ensuring quality of functionality, products and services matches business expectations.
- Support the standardization of the IT environment as much as possible, moving toward a centralized IT operating model.
- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT infrastructure and security.
- Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation and deployment of secure technology across Samuel.
- Act as an advocate for IT strategy and initiatives via regular communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users.
- Accountable for delivering accurate business cases and statements of work in a timely manner and helping the business realize return on Investment (ROI).
- Collaborates with IT leadership and internal stakeholders to influence project prioritization and resource planning aligned with Business priorities.
- Translate business vision to enable shared understanding and rapid execution by business and IT personnel.
- Works with various levels of IT and Business leadership to raise awareness and advise on technology advancements.
Product Owner
- Perform precursory evaluation of business processes, analyze client requirements, and determine how software can best meet client’s strategy & goals.
- Document functional design, including integration points, workflows, data flows and security requirements.
- Maintain testing repository, including development & maintenance of test cases ensuring complete lifecycle management.
- Oversee Business and IT testing activities (unit, integration, and user acceptance). Assist with unit & integration testing as needed.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architect & Business Leaders to identify & implement desired functionality and enhancements to maximize technology investment and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to vendor partners and/or development team, ensuring quality of functionality, products and services matches business expectations.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or related or equivalent experience
- Business Relationship Management Professional Certification an asset
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification an asset
- Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) an asset
- ITIL Foundations an asset
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of leadership within IT with demonstrated ability to influence key Business Decisions
SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong team player, and the ability to effectively work with all levels, internally within Samuel and externally.
- Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and collaboration platforms.
- Considerable working knowledge of IT architecture, programs, and processes.
- Experience with complex SaaS, Cloud, and Hosted environments.
- Ability to work through conflict, gain trust, and persuasively influence outcomes.
- Flexible, able to adjust and change direction as the business environment and technology universe evolves and changes.
- Action oriented and able to work proactively with little or no direct management.
- Familiar with fundamentals of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Solid understanding of business analyst and project management principles.
