Make an impact with our Consumer Insolvency team as an Insolvency Counsellor. This diverse team of professionals assists Canadians with navigating and overcoming financial challenges to achieve financial freedom. As a trusted advisor, you will help individuals recover from times of financial distress and regain control of their finances.

Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to clients dealing with financial difficulties.
- Provide advice about budgeting, achieving financial goals, spending habits, and responsible use of credit.
- Assist clients with developing or reviewing a tailored budget.
- Assist clients with developing appropriate financial goals and plans.
- Enhance the online modules provided by the OSB with structured and relevant counselling sessions.
- Ensure all counselling services are conducted in accordance with the BIA and other relevant regulations.
- Work closely with our team of Licensed Insolvency Trustees and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to clients.
- Stay up to date with changes in the BIA and related legislation, as well as best practices in financial counselling.
Skills and Experience
- Must be a certified BIA Counsellor with experience in providing counseling under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client care.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable using financial software and other digital tools required for client management and documentation.
