Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hydrovac Swamper to join our Burbank team. The ideal candidate will assist in the operation of hydrovac trucks, ensuring safe and efficient excavation for various projects across Canada. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Hydrovac Swamper, you will play a vital role in supporting our operations and contributing to the success of our projects.
Duties
- Assist the hydrovac operator in the setup and operation of hydrovac equipment for excavation tasks.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel across Alberta and nationwide is an asset.
- Support the safe digging process by managing hoses and ensuring proper suction.
- Perform site preparation by clearing debris and marking utility lines.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to the hydrovac operator.
- Engage in other related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Hydrovac experience and Class 1 would be an asset.
- Swampers with no experience or minimal experience will be considered.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred, including skills in handling high-pressure water jets, vacuum hose, commercial driving, and other tools.
- Familiarity with excavation techniques such as digging, paving, horizontal drilling, and building is advantageous.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials may be required.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to heavy equipment operation are a plus.
- Clean drivers abstract is required.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration.
