Position Summary
Dynamic Machine Corp is seeking a skilled and dependable Hydraulic Cylinder Technician to join our Fluid Power team. This hands-on position focuses on the inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of hydraulic cylinders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset, supporting our commitment to high-quality service and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Cylinder Repair & Rebuild: Disassemble, inspect, assess, and repair hydraulic cylinders to OEM specifications or better, including replacement or refurbishment of seals, rods, barrels, glands, and other components.
- Precision Measurement: Accurately measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure proper clearances and tolerances during cylinder rebuilds and assembly.
- New Assembly: Assemble new hydraulic cylinders according to blueprints, schematics, or written instructions. Ensure all components are aligned and torqued to specifications.
- Welding Support: Perform minor welding or assist welding team as required for cylinder component repair and fabrication.
- Parts Identification & Sourcing: Identify worn or damaged parts and assist in sourcing appropriate replacements from inventory or suppliers.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Clean work areas and equipment at the end of each job and shift. Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Shop & Field Work: Primarily shop-based with occasional field or customer site service, representing Dynamic Machine Corp professionally at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians, apprentices, and support staff to ensure workflow continuity and high-quality service.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Support the broader service team by assisting in related tasks, shop maintenance, or projects as directed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in hydraulic repair, machining, or mechanical assembly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components, including seals, rods, and pistons.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components using cranes and hoists.
- Basic welding skills considered an asset.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support others.
- Must have basic hand tools and tool chest per company policy.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license preferred.
Working Conditions
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime or shift adjustments based on project deadlines.
- Work performed in a shop environment with occasional off-site service work.
- PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and other gear required at all times.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
