Job Title: HSE Coordinator
Reports to: HSE Manager
Location: Grande Prairie, Alberta
Position Summary: As a HSE Coordinator with Source Energy Services, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of professionals in the HSE department. Working closely with the HSE Manager, the position is responsible for coordination of critical data and tasks related to the HSE Operations within Source Energy Services at terminal and rails sites. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for feedback to ensure continuous improvement of various systems, processes, and documents. Travel to locations in Alberta and British Columbia will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- HSE software
- Become a mentor/coach and provide guidance to managers and employees on the use of EHS insight.
- Precede data entry for health assessments.
- HSE data reporting and entry
- Assist with entry and investigation of service quality, HSE incidents, near misses and other QHSE related events.
- Assist with entry of employee training records and competencies (Skills).
- Assist with entry of Contractor Management data.
- Reports – know where the data comes from for monthly/Quarterly HSE reports.
- Assist with compiling various reports.
- HSE Support
- Provide day-to-day HSE Support to the HSE team.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation process – meet with new hires.
- Assist in data capture regarding training, orientation, auditing, inspections, observations, and asset data.
- Assist in development of incident review documents, hazard alerts and HSE Live Communications.
- Participate in planning and preparation of ERP Drills, Safety Meetings and training courses as required.
- Assist with PPE sourcing, hearing fit testing and coverall cleaning program.
- Assist with coordinating set up, scheduling, planning, booking rooms and participation in training events as required.
- Assist with preparation for Health and Safety Audits.
- Assist with planning and preparation for monthly safety meetings on a rotation to ensure safety meeting topics are being reviewed and discussed.
- Assist with development and updating of the HSE programs, SOP’s, SMS, GOI and training documents.
- Assist with observation reviews to flag areas of concern (trends, etc).
- Assist with Health and Safety Committee.
- Participate in and perform site inspections or audits.
- Respond to incidents and support investigations/root cause analysis.
- Travel to Source work sites will be required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Related post-secondary education is preferred; either a Health, Safety and Environment Certificate or Diploma certification or other similar certification is preferred.
- Minimum 1 to 5 years’ progressive experience in an equivalent Quality, Health, Safety & Environment role preferred.
- Experience in the industrial rail industry, specifically within rail safety, is an asset.
- Health and safety experience in a material storage and handling setting is desired.
- Computer literate, efficient with data management.
- High level proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as Adobe.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments.
- High attention to detail with, especially with regards to statistical data, and accurate report generation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
